IDE works to alleviate poverty in some of the world’s poorest countries using an innovative enterprise-based strategy based on the PRISM model (Poverty Reduction through Irrigation and Smallholder Markets). We work with poor farmers in Africa and Asia to design, manufacture and promote low-cost water technologies that help them to earn a secure income through local markets.
Furthermore, IDE sets up sustainable private sector supply chains to ensure that this equipment can reach as many poor farmers as possible. Once farmers are growing high value crops, we help them to market these and make a good profit.
