The Salvation Army is both a Christian church and a registered charity. The Salvation Army demonstrates its Christian principles through social welfare provision and is the largest provider of social welfare in the UK after the Government. In the UK we run over 800 church and community centres and more than 100 social service centres including residential centres for the homeless, the elderly and those addicted to drugs and alcohol.
