Our Skilled Grantseeker Programme equips fundraisers with the essential skills required to be successful in raising funds from charitable trusts.
It is the most respected and in-depth high value fundraising training programme in Europe. We cover the fundamental skills of researching donors; developing successful proposals; building relationships; and planning and target setting.
Since 2013, over 300 organisations have put their staff on this programme, including The British Museum, Christian Aid, Child Bereavement UK, Opera North and Leonard Cheshire.
Half of our participants complete the full programme, which has spawned dozens of ongoing peer support networks – where people continue learning for years after the programme has ended. Equally popular, many opt for one or two events to address their specific training needs.
For experienced fundraisers we offer a fresh and innovative approach. For new fundraisers we provide a comprehensive toolkit for a successful career in grantseeking.
The Skilled Grantseeker Programme is currently available as online webinars for Spring 2020 and a series of in-person courses in London for Autumn 2020.
The Spring 2020 Skilled Grantseeker Progamme has been converted into an online learning experience. There will now be 16 two-hour webinars, each costing £45. We have already completed half of them and the outstanding ones cover the following subjects:
“These webinars have been magical. They showed me a different way of approaching my work and equipped me with lots of practical tips.” Petya Farnhill, Fundraising Manager, The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust
You can also book one of these webinars as an in-house session. These will be built around your own donors and your own proposals and can be attended by up to 16 people. These cost £260, plus VAT and we have already successfully delivered these for Operation Smile and Bipolar UK. To enquire about one of these, email us on email@example.com
The four webinar modules
The modules are:
- Researching Donors
- Project Planning and Proposal Writing
- Networking and Negotiating
- Target Setting and Planning
There will be four webinars in each module. We developed and tested them by running the Researching Donors module and most of the Project Planning and Proposal Writing one – we’re confident that our format works.
Each webinar will be highly interactive, with participants doing pair and group work within virtual breakout rooms, investigating prepared case studies supplied as resource packs.
We have successfully converted our best exercises from the training courses into online experiences. We are also able to introduce a diverse range of new webinar presenters – they are all very experienced fundraisers.
Each webinar session is expected to last for up to two hours and there is a limit of 24 participants. We are opening-up these webinars to new bookings. We have about 6 places available for each webinar and they cost £45 for each one.
In-person courses – September to December 2020 in London
There are plenty of places for the Skilled Grantseeker Programme starting in September 2020. All courses will be delivered by Bill Bruty alongside another member of the Fundraising Training Ltd team.
Each element normally runs twice each year in central London, from April to July, then September to December.
The four programme elements
- Understanding Charitable Trusts and Mastering the Research Tools
- Project Planning and Proposal Writing
- Networking and Negotiating Skills
- Target Setting and Tracking
