African Leadership Centre

The African Leadership Centre (ALC) was established in Nairobi Kenya on the 24th June 2010 as an educational trust under Kenyan law, and in partnership with King’s College London and the University of Nairobi. The ALC and its flagship programmes grew out of the Conflict, Security and Development Group (CSDG) at King’s College London. The ALC aims to do the following:

  • To train and mentor young Africans with the potential to lead and enable innovative change in their communities and in the African region. Through this to enrich the communities, institutions and organizations in which they live and work.

  • To increase, in scope and quality, knowledge on peace, security and development within select academic institutions in Africa, through building a solid knowledge base on the causes of conflict and insecurity in Africa.

Hubert attended our Comprehensive Resource Mobilisation programme run in Nairobi in 2018-19

The past five years of my professional life have been spent doing policy-relevant research in the areas of peace, security and development in Africa. As a result, my engagement in resource mobilization was limited. However, my current role in the organization I work for requires me to support fundraising for the programme I coordinate. No training could have been more useful to this end than that which Advocacy Accelerator and Fundraising Training Ltd provided, through Bill and my personal Tutor, Caroline Makokha. The resource mobilization knowledge and skills about networking, putting together a winning proposal, as well as building trust and maintaining relations with donors will remain with me for the rest of my professional life, and will definitely make me an invaluable asset to any organization I work with.
